At the National Domestic Violence Hotline… We believe that every caller deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We believe that every family deserves to live in a world free from violence. We believe that safe homes and safe families are the foundation of a safe society.
Until the violence stops, the hotline will continue to answer…One Call at a Time. Help is available to callers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hotline advocates are available for victims and anyone calling on their behalf to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Assistance is available in English and Spanish with access to more than 170 languages through interpreter services. If you or someone you know is frightened about something in your relationship, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

Thank you Avis for posting this....I also want to thank you for giving me the number not to long ago, they really helped me alot. and if i can get help where i live anyone can. Thanks agian Avis, you sure help alot of ppl hear, your an angel!!!!

Can i just say................... i was in a very abusive relationship, at the time i thought it was ok, i thought i deserved it, he made me feel like i deserved it!
Until i left that is........thats when i came to see that i was a better person than him, i WAS WORTH so much more. For the people that are in an abusive relationsip...please take care of yourself, they have no right to harm others, i know its easier said than done to leave but your life will be 100% better if you start thinking about yourself.

Lost, you are sooooo right . If they call this place THEY WILL HELP WITH SO MUCH ,WITH EVERYTHING. It is worth a call whether you ask for help is up to you.I am afraid for some of these ladies who are waiting for the "right" time to leave what if the "right " time come to late .
