So today I went to get my results from Endocrinologist and everything was normal except my liver functions that are really bad:

In the link below I have published my liver function results from 2010. My risk was in Feb 2012.

is there any connection my liver functions and white tongue? Maybe

what is causing it? it's a virus? I am going for further testing next week.

could it be cause of the antibiotics that you used? you know those pills are known to put extra tax on liver..

you mean the pills I took only for during ONE WEEK? I find hardly to believe that such thing could cause problems for 18 months. I would retest for Hepatitis.

Hi. I have nearly identical symptoms.
I have had irritated taste buds, or as I think they are, oral warts, for almost 2 years. Happened shortly after giving a girl oral. You said you tested positive for hpv16, don't you think that's the cause?
I would think so.... I need to get some health insurance before I ask for a swab test but sadly I'm almost convinced its oral HPV. Idk what strain I have, I hope a low risk, but warts = HPV.

Before I saw your posts ashler, from my own research I concluded HPV... Due to the way I got it... You say you just received oral, but did u kiss? It can be passed skin to skin so kissing can likely transmit this......

I believe the medical professional community don't fully understand HPV yet. Some say "wart causing strains aren't high risk, etc etc" u tested positive for hpv16 which is a leading cause of oral cancers. I hope that it doesn't progress to that, but this problem just seems like it must be HPV. Did the treatment you receive for HPV help at all? Everything I've read says the only thing that can really fight it is your immune system. You said you were given isoprinosine how did that work? I also had a white tongue for a while, but using an 'orabrush' with the foam, along with a castor oil mouthwash 'therabreath' got rid of it very quickly, if you still have a white tongue please give those a try.

Best wishes, I hope you/we can eventually overcome this. Please continue to update, I like many have been following your posts for many months, and haven't commented til now, but there is a silent majority still looking for answers, and you sir are providing some of the best info for these symptoms I've came across in hundreds of hours of research.... When I am able to see a Dr. or dentist (have you seen a dentist or oral surgeon?)  I may end up using some of this info, so thank you for updating us so persistently.

Another thing. I noticed your tongue, along with mine seems wavy, ridged, scalloped, whatever you want to call it. Just wanted to add that.

This should be noted.

An oral swab was positive for HPV-16 and i tool isoprinosine after that for about 3 weeks. It did nothing.

2 weeks after I received oral sex I came with a swollen cervical lymph node, neck stiffness and an urinary track infections. Symptoms (specially the first two) matched HIV. However, I have tested several times negative (you can browse my journal for details).

Seen two infectologists and they don't think my tongue problems are due HPV. My tongue is swollen, white coated tongue and, as noticed by two doctors, I am producing few saliva (i.e. dry mouth). I have this problem for 20 months now. Never had a single health problem in my life before this incident.

Monday I am going to an urologist to check bladder/kidneys. I have seen that a kidney failure may cause the tongue problems I am having.

I will continue updating my case as usual.

"I also had a white tongue for a while, but using an 'orabrush' with the foam, along with a castor oil mouthwash 'therabreath' got rid of it very quickly, if you still have a white tongue please give those a try"

seems we have different problems. problem I have is dry tongue, so it does not matter what I take, my tongue will be always dry (and because of this, white) unless I find the underlying problem. which I am still looking since June 2012.

i am currently taking Biotene for dry mouth which gives temporary relief but does not cure it.

Oh. My main problem is irritated tastebud looking things and tongue soreness in the irritated areas. Though my mouth gets pretty dry, its not white.
I am pretty sure they are a form of oral wart caused by HPV. It's the only explanation I have. I'm seeing a doc soon so I'll see.

"My main problem is irritated tastebud looking things and tongue soreness in the irritated areas"

i have not cancer. i tested positive for HPV-16 through an oral swab but not sure if that's the reason of the problem.

what tests have you done so far?

In June will be 2 years that I have this chronic problem.

i basically am having to URGE my doctor to do all these tests. my doctor is extremely laissez-faire about this all.

what tests did you take to make certain that u don't have oral cancer?? did you get a biopsy and where?

i'm just starting off with all of this so so far i've just done vaginal swabs, a pap smear, a blood panel, std screening, and an endoscopy (for my bulimia..and they took biopsies inside me w/that).

any recommendations for tests to run?? and for what to say to make my doctor take me seriously?

bulimia? don't you think your problems are due to that? or did your problems started a sexual contact?
