Though happy to see me visit, he doesn't quite look like himself in the kennel. He's being kept until they can clear his urethra of crystals that are preventing him from urinating.

Poor kitty :(   We thought Jade had a crystal problem at one time.  She was unable to urinate and of course, this was on a Sunday so we took her to the ER.  After a very expensive ultrasound, she came home and seemed just fine!?!   Your kitty looks like he's getting very good care and I'm sure it's the highlight of his day when you come to visit.  I hope he's able to come home soon; I know you miss him :(

He's still there. I would have visited again, but with work and transportation, I had to leave around 7:00 am and come home at about 6:30-7:00 pm. I won't be able to see him tomorrow either, unless he does in fact come home before the weekend.

Jade59, that's a shame couldn't find out what caused that with Jade even after the ultrasound.

Yes, I know!  The ultrasound showed a "mass," and we tried putting her on the special diet, but she refused it completely.  Oddly, I have never seen her having trouble urinating again!  I have a theory.  Whatever it was that showed up on the ultrasound, I am thinking with all the kneading and pushing on her bladder by the doctor and then the pressing of the  ultrasound, maybe whatever was there broke up?  I don't know for sure, of course, just that she's not had any more problems, thank goodness!
