This scene looks very similar to one here in Seal Beach, California ( missing the pier, though) During this time of year around 6 am there are many surfers whoare trying to catch the wave.

i love this place, there is always great surf! unfortunately it's quite a way from where i live but we try to get up there a couple of times a year. California must be great for surf!
