The white is the contrast agent. I thought this meant I had two lumps on my pituitary, but I read online that the pituitary turns white with the contrast agent and tumors are dark, so......................................I don't know.

The nurse joked that it was shaped like a lima bean but she didn't remember what pituitaries were supposed to look like since they don't image them much. I won't get my results until Thursday or Friday at the earliest. I hate waiting!!!!

One last thing--this is obviously a blown up version of what I saw. I thought the pituitary was supposed to be "pea-sized", though...it was definitely about 1/2 an inch in length from the side view.....

But the MRI may not be able to detect microadenomas that are smaller than 3 mm (about 1/8 inch). Sometimes the MRI scan will show a small abnormality in the pituitary that has nothing to do with the patient’s symptoms. Between 5% and 25% of healthy peo

I'm dying to hear the results!!! I hate waiting and I have a wonderful (ehhh...by this I mean "good that I might've figured it out", not medically good) theory as to what is going on/a potential diagnosis. If you want to hear it sometime, let me know, and

Jules - check out my post on Antibodies - I got a response from Dr. Lupo (the thyroid breast question) on an additional question I posted and put it on the community forum for others to see. I thought it might be particularly interesting to you since you

have some of my symptoms

Thanks, I did! I'd really like my TgAb to be redone, but I don't think the doctor listened to me the other day & it probably wasn't ordered with my bloodwork. I'm seeing an endo soon so I'll ask him to order it to see if they're positive.
