Thank you. We do have lots of memories of her , she was a real character. She could work a crowd like any good professional,lol.

Thanks Mary! The worst was doing CPR on her but it was too late. During the night she had labored breathing and I planned to take her to the vet at 7:30 am. As we were getting dressed to go, Chloe's tongue turned from pink to dusky right before my eyes. Her final breathe was when Doug picked her up as we were going out the door and then her poor little head flopped back. We were at a close-by vet (not our usual) and when they intubated they realized she had pulmonary edema , which had been my guess before we left.

They were so kind to us there and understood what it means to lose a pet. I never thought it would hurt this much.  She was 11.5 years old and lived a good and full life and for that we are grateful.

I feel your pain. When we lost our first dog, Sasha, to cancer about 3 1/2-4 yrs ago it was so awful. I cried and cried that morning that we took her to the vet, and I had to take the day off of work.  Many hugs to you and to your family. It's really tough losing a furry family member - especially after you've had her for so long.

Thank you all for your sweet and kind words about Chloe and the hugs and support you have sent me!! I so appreciate all of you and this forum for all that you do even if not about MS. Kelly you have so much on your plate and yet u stopped and left  your condolences.
And Jane , thank you for the hugs. Mary, love the quote from Winnie the Pooh, Shell- your constant support and DB = I know you know the pain from Lars' passing suddenly and I wished I had supported you  more.  Group hug to all of you who have helped me!
