thats looks home sweet home --------can they move like a boat or they stuck ?

The law is that they must stay in a legal slip. Since there are no free slips, the only way they can move is if you find someone to swap with.

This is an attempt to write a much longer than usual comment. The reason there are these floating homes has to do with the housing shortage after WWII. In many communities, temporary homes of different source were built. Where Swampy grew up, there were "parade ground units" -- barracks set up in the old parade ground. Swampy's other house (as opposed to the Swamphouse) is a home manufactured for the just post WWII housing. It is small, and the walls are plywood, not drywall. In addition, the framing is 2x2.

ah --i see,, there are cool ...the framing on the your other house is small is that compared to 4x4 as standard for internal studwork.. can u go fishing out your bedroom window if u want to ...... i would like a house like that seems very laid back

Swampy isn't at a deep enough slip to fish, but there are floating homes much further out in deeper water. Swampy's friend Dave lives in deep enough water that he gets seals swimming up to his porch.
