How close to these girls are you?? Is that another doe with her head down? I would think the bucks would start sniffin around here shortly.

I am about 15-20 feet away. They let me get pretty close, but when I lifted my camera they started to spook(as you can see). Possibly thought I may be pointing more than a camera!! The elusive Bucks are there alright, for I could hear them snorting loudly!! The Doe in the back doesn't seem to mind me at all.

The young males I have seen are getting their nubs, soon to be spikes. Rut is close...Bucks get aggressive.

Actually they are pretty small. I have seen some does near the size of horses!! Quite magnificent to watch them run. Cassy loves to chase them. The deer make a sort of game of it. Tempting and teasing her !! lol !

My last house we lived in a wooded area with lots of deer. One evening my little dog was barking, I let him out and saw too late a big buck standing right there by my back door! Willow ran up to him and started barking at him, the buck stamped his feet and snorted and Willow shot back inside!
