Did the doctor say this was OK?  It does not look OK to me...I do not know how to read x-rays...but there is definately something wrong with the image.  There is a swelling or mass that is showing on the right side (The "R" letter at the bottom shows that this is the right side.)  I originally thought it was a hiatal hernia...because that is what I have...but the doctor did not tell me...do you have pain or tightness in your chest, where the mass appears to be?

Did you ask your doctor what it was?  How did you get a copy of your x-ray?  Is it on a disc?  How did you post it here?  (From a flash drive?)  My doctor says he can not give me my x-ray...it is only for doctors!!!???

This is not an X-ray.  It is an IVP.  They put dye in my veins and watch the dye go through my kidneys to see if they drain well.

To acquire copies of your test, go to the place where the test was performed.  In my case, it was at the hospital.  I had to fill out a release form.  Some places give these to you and some charge a small fee, like $5.  But this was on a disc and I printed this image out or just saved it in "My Pictures".

To answer your question, this is my kidney 45 min. after the dye was injected.  It was slow to empty, plus the renal pelvis was enlarged (Hydronephrosis) with a possibility of a ureteopelvic obstruction.  The radiologist said hydronephrosis and the obstruction, but the dr. said this was normal.  So whatever. I'm still alive, so there ya go.  I still hurt, but who cares?  That was way back in '08.  You can't really see it in this view, but my uterus had come loose and was pressing against my ureter, thus the enlarged kidney.  After the hysterectomy, I haven't thrown up or had the sharp, stabbing-jabbing pains like I had.  So for that I'm grateful.

I also have a mild hiatal hernia.  Supposedly, it was causing acid reflux.  I had a Nissen Fundoplication done 1 1/2 years ago.  I do feel a tightness in my chest, but kinda attributed it to fibromyalgia.  More of a sore throat issue here...as far as the acid reflux goes.
