Wow, looks very similar to a Lupus butterfly rash.

I woke up like this on Monday (3/16).  I'd been feeling relatively good lately, so it was a shock when I saw myself in the mirror.  My face stayed like that for about 1/2 the day then faded.  So far this week each day is like a coin toss if I'll feel ok or not.

You are quick, TrudieC!  The butterfly or malar rash is seen in Lyme patients as well.  I've been tested for lupus several times.  While I've had an elevated SED rate and CRP, my ANA has always been negative.

Do insist that you continue to be tested periodically.  I now have Lupus and it doesn't show up all at once in your blood work but does so slowly over time.

Hope it doesn't FEEL as uncomfortable as it looks like it would.  My daughter has that "butterfly" look also.  She's got lupus and is on prednisone.
