what a lovely picture of our Lord, he is all, all everything, including color, like my favorite childrens song, red or yellow. black or white we are precious in hs sight. Jesus loves us!!!
hey bold, yup Jesus loves people of ALL colors - He created us all different colors- so He loves us all...but ya know what is funny to me......whenever there is a movie about Jesus they use an actor that has straight hair, light skin, sometimes even blue eyes! ;o) And all the paintings have the same look.
I always tell people, you have to remember - Jesus was born of a Jew, and if you take a look at what Jewish people look like over in and around where he was born...... curly almost afro type and hair, medium to darkish skin. So the actors that they use to play the part don't even come close. Straight flowing hair and blue eyes???;o)
If I remember correctly the bible says he had hair like wool? I have to look it up when I have time - have to prepare dinner.
seeya,
MO
amen! thats exactly what the bible says! skin of brass color, hair like sheep wool, eyes like fire! somewhere down the line people put a twist on it~!! God bless!!
Yep, look at how the people look over there in the middle east, dark skin and eyes. Of course, he's a spirit above all so I don't think he has any color, to tell you the truth!
Okay,so what I see is when Jesus rose from the dead, he had a ressurected "body", different from His human body it seems, but still a body with bones and nail scarred hands too,,,PLUS he ATE FOOD with the disciples!. And the whole crux of Christianity is not that He died and stayed dead - but He ROSE from the dead - death could not hold Him - so for that reason, my understanding is that He is not some spirit in heaven - He is the crucufied Jesus who death and all of hell could not keep down - He got up!! ;o)
The Holy "Spirit" lives in those that believe though, but as far as Jesus in heaven, to the best of my understanding He has a ressurrected body - so I don't really view Him just as a "spirit" in heaven, because His spirit is with us here.
'"And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you".
Luk 24:37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and SUPPOSED that they had SEEN a SPIRIT.
Luk 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
Luk 24:39 Behold my HANDS and my FEET, that it is I myself: HANDLE me, and see; for a spirit hath NOT flesh and bones, AS YE SEE I HAVE.
Luk 24:40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them [his] hands and [his] feet.
Luk 24:41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, HE said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
Luk 24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
Luk 24:43 And he took [it], and did EAT before them..

THEN when you go to verse 50,51, its the Ascension. So, His ressurected body was different than His human body but from what I see above is that they thought he was a spirit and He said , no, a spirit has no bones (like me), touch me.
And he was hungry too...so though His ressurected body was different than His human body, it still seems to have similarities -wanting food etc.
And what about the 7 year feast in heaven that we are going to have? So we will be eating in Heaven and so that means we have a body too - but a ressurected body.
If you think I am wrong tell me. I don't get offended, I like talking about Jesus and heaven and the bible.
And Bold, at that 7 year feast, you better not hog the mash potatoes!! Pass them to me!! LOL
