They flap their wings at an amazing speed.....cant remember the exact number but i thought it was like a thousand or something.....I better google it now.

I just looked on WikiAnswers and they say that they can flap anywhere from 40-80 times a second.....during courtship they can flap up to 200 times a second.  So now you know!!!

Good thing i didnt bet the bank on my thousand something guess!!!!!!!

Good thing !! but still that is remarkable that their wings beat that fast.. and their nest are only the size of a walnut. I'm forever looking for them as they love this trumpet vine.. can not find them  ??

i know their nests are small and very hard to find.......never seen one either.
