Thanks for all the tips :) I managed to nurse him 2 extra feeds today which I hope helps...he seems quite content to nurse longer too. I am going to call our public health dept. tomorrow for a list of lactation consultants as well...hopefully there will be a few in my area. The nearest La Leche league is a little too far away for me to get to easily an...

My little guy is 8 weeks old today, and our dr. is actually a woman. She is a new dr. though and I'm not sure if she has any children of her own or not. I would prefer to not have to use the formula, but I know my DH will probably throw a fit if I don't do what the dr. told me to. I will definitely try to let him nurse more often and for as long as he want...

I took my little guy to the dr. today and found out he is not gaining enough weight :( The dr. recommended nursing him for 20 minutes per side and then giving him 2 oz. of formula to supplement. She also said I should feed him every 3 hours (alternating between nursing and formula each feeding) and pump at the 1.5 hour mark....I really wanted to breastfeed e...

Spencer will be 8 weeks old on Halloween and we're just going to take him to friends houses to show him off...he's going to be a little red chili pepper :)
Nursing mothers tea??

I'm bf'ing my little guy and I bought some nursing mothers tea to help keep up/increase milk supply...the only problem is that stuff is horrible tasting :( Do you think it will cause it to be less effective if I were to add a small amount of sugar to the tea to make it bearable to drink??
