I have had diagnosed stokes/T.I.A.s. Now I am being told none of it happened, and that some "trigger" has caused these stroke like symptoms to manifest themselfs. Any direction on where to go now? Or if anyone else out there has had this happen to them. I have served honorably in the military, and have never lied about what is happening to me and al...

I was diagnosed with a CVA 8 months ago and still have problems with it. 2 Weeks ago I woke up and my entire left side was completely numb and I was blind in my right eye. About 2 hours later both symtoms went away at the same time. I just sat upstairs till I felt better. I saw my Doc 2 days ago and she said I had a T.I.A. My question is: Is this T.I.A. a pre...

Doc, The military doctors are now thinking that it was a mild stroke and not a TIA because although some of my symptoms have improved, but I still have weakness on my left side and lightheadeness. I am now going to neurology on friday and they are also sending me to get an ultrasound on my Carotid artery.

Thank you Dr for taking the time to reply. I am having am EEG on thursday, do you think they will find anything wrong, seeing how I still have balance problems and a constant buzzing in my head (not audible, just a feeling)?

I agree with livinginhope. Don't wait. I waited three days before I went to see a Doctor about being very dizzy and fatigued. Once I saw the doctor, she immediately called an ambulance and I was hospitalized for 2 more days. This is serious stuff and quite honestly, my symptoms have improved but not gone away. 10% of TIA victims go on to have a major str...

I had read all that about no lasting effects, but one of my doctors read a medical article to me from 2009, saying that T.I.A's can have lasting effects and something to the nature that the medical community is now re-thinking the whole "no lasting effects". With me, there has been lasting effects of dizzyness (light headiness, memory loss most...

Doing a journal on my diet, weight, and diabetes numbers after my TIA/Stroke. Talking to one of my doctors two days ago, he read a new article that states that the medical comunity has revised their take on TIA's. They now no that there can be a longer recovery period than previously believed (1 to 24 hours), and even permanent damage. I now realize that...

I had my TIA last Tuesday or Wednesday and was hospitalized on thurday and released on friday. Sunday now, the mornings I seem to still be dizzy (my main symptom). But for two days now in the afternoon I feel almost fine, but mornings and night, I seem to almost revert back to this. I am also diabetic. One other curious thing, my typing skill have suffered, b...
