It is hard to know why she had incontinence after the laminectomy. If it was a routine and uncomplicated procedure, the operation should not have caused this. I know of patients who have had incontinece after a foley was placed - did she have a foley. It is weird and unusual but it happens. There is also the possibility of really weird coincidence. And finall...

Sorry for your husband's problems. I think you have condensed a lot of information above and I will try and see what I can say. First, the MRI does not sound impressive. But a picture is worth a thousand words. Based on what you report, it is not suprising that the surgeons were not convinced it was his back. It does not sound like he has back pain either....

Sorry for your problems, but there are some philosophical issues here that might not get resolved. For medical doctors, discs do not go in and out of alignment just like that. They are usually in alignment or not. So, I don't know why you have dizziness and problems focuing your eyes. That is not from your neck. Pain up the back of your head can be from yo...

I don't think you have the right forum. I am not sure what your problem is. Are you having an issue with your implant? Are you having problems with vision? I would follow up with your surgeon and your primary and try to have them figure out the next steps. Good luck.

Nice nickname. Herniated discs are very common and easily treated. It is almost the most basic of surgeries that a spine surgeon does. Spine surgeons comes in two flavors - orthopedic and neurosurgeons. I like to say that a bad orthopedic spine surgeon is a bad spine surgeon and a bad neurosurgeon is a bad spine surgeon. So it really doesn't matter which k...

Did you go to the ER or see your doctor? Why did you faint? Do you have a circulation problem? I would be worried about spontaneous fainting than your back! If you have no pain when you walk and are stiff in your back, I would think you have lumbar strain - your muscles are traumatized from the fall and should get better with time. Without examining you...

You are pretty young to have these things going on! You also have lots of things going on that seem unrelated. epidural abscess- very unusual for someone so young, but should be resolved now. cervical kyphosis - old x-ray - finding of a wedged C6 arthritis in neck - pretty young to have it too bad L4-5 stenosis - again pretty young to have it too ba...

It is very very hard to make any suggestions based on an MRI report. Actually, given the findings on the MRI that seem significant, without a history and physical exam, it is impossible to recommend the appropriate treatment. Your scan implies you have severe cervical stenosis and spondylosis - that is degeneration of the spine and narrowing of the spinal ...

Sorry for the delay! Spinal fusion surgery sometimes works very well and sometimes not so well. ONe of the causes of unsuccess is often attributed to a non-union or pseudoarthrosis. In these cases, there is assumed to be some movement where the bones should have fused that accounts for the pain or other symptoms. Good luck with the second surgery and I hop...

Quick synopsis --- You had an MRI of your neck with and without IV contrast. You have a small amount of soft tissue (pannus) around the second cervical vertebrae that is NOT causing a problem (common in Rheumatoid) You have a little degeneration at C4-5 and C2-3. There is a benign looking fat glob at C6. Essentially, your neck is without any serious ab...
