Your B12 level could stand to go higher. One GP and a naturopathic doctor told me that ideal is above the range not within it. The top of my range is 946 and my level is just over 1400. The VitD 1,25 needs to go higher too.

I had the eyelid twitching when my B12 level was low. Many people with hypothyroidism have low B12 levels as well as low iron, magnesium, and calcium.
Thank you for your time and answer. It is very helpful. I think I will speak with my endocrinologist about options as I have gained and lost too much weight with these episodes as well. This time it took a bit hit on my hair. It is falling out in handfuls all the time.

I get that problem if I am under or overmedicated on thyroid medicine. When overmedicated I get severe pain in my hips, knees, and ankles.

A healthy person under the age of 50 can be started on 100 mcg without a problem. This is per protocol I read on several sites written by endocrinologist. Because you are over 50 years old, it is best to start on a lower dose and increase after testing in 6 to 8 weeks.

If you are young and without other physical problems starting out at 100 mcg is not a problem. If you're over 50, a doctor starts you on a lower dose, usually half that.

What is the B12 result and the range? A B12 level just above the high end is good. Mine is 1246 and the top of the range is in the 900s. A former GP told me that where one wants it to feel best.
