What is 1-131 treatment?

Thanks for your advice, I'll check with my doctor here to see about lining up a u/s before my next visit to the endocrinologist in January. Good to know what 1-131 is. I have a feeling surgery my be the answer, but I never give up hope and I will see what the doc says in January. Thanks, Cindy

I have a multi-nodular goiter with nodules on my right side of 3.4x1.6, 2.8x2.9 and 1.6x1.3, on the left - 4.5x1.6 and 2.3x1.4 and on the isthmus 1.2. These are all solid and I have had 2 FNA's by an endocrinologist, both came out benign. This endocrinologist did not have any idea as to why I have the goiter, nor what to do about it.
