Get off the NIACIN! Doesn't matter if it SR or IR. But SR is much better. Yes, it does bring down Triglycerides, LDL. But at the recommended dose of 1000mg at night with an 82mg aspirin you are cutting off your nose despite your face. There are other ways to lower Triglycerides. I was on 1000mg p/n of Niacin ordered by my Primary Dr. The Niacin was terrible...

I haven't been able to work for sometime now. But my last job was at a City, as a buyer. We were kind of "urged" to be blood donor's during blood drives. I could only say that "I don't like the needles" for so long. I finally told my boss that Due to exposure in Vietnam, my liver is not healthy and my blood would not be accepted. I was suspected of HepC in 1989 by blood test. I had a laproscopic biopsy. If your going to do it get it dome the best way. With Laproscopic biopsy the Dr. can see the liver, and pick the areas where he sees the best location. Not only that biopsy but had two other needle biopsies where he could see well enough. This post seems familar. Anyway, Alcoholic Liver Disease is worse than other liver diseases, except liver cancer. His stomach won't come down by itself. It takes a needle aspiration to drain the fluid. The asities will return. In order to get on a transplant list it takes at least 6 mos. of sobriety.
