I personally doen't believe probiotics, like Acydophilus can help in IBS. I've also haven't find any published proofs for that. In IBS, the problem usually isn't deficiency, but rather an overgrowth of bacteria. Pineapple is pretty low in fructose and has fructose/glucose ratio about 1 or lower, so your experience relates to theory... You may also try kiwi.
