My daughter was diagnosed with bipolar some two years ago then subsequently it was dismissed and her symptoms were diagnosed as caused by an enlarged pituitary gland and hormone imbalance. Can anyone tell me if these could all be related to bipolar.

My daughter suffers severe depression and has been put on a course of hormone treatments. She is only 33 and her doctor has diagnosed her problems as being caused by an enlarged pituitary gland. What causes this condition and how is it treated. Is the treatment lifelong? Can anyone tell me if they have suffered from this condition and how they coped.
