Personally I did not know one single thing about hepatitis C before I was diagnosed. I knew it existed, but I had no clue about how one could get it. The cruelty against chimps aside... This drug sounds incredible. There are so many new drugs coming out at the moment, I'm very hopeful that in a few years no interferon will be needed anymore. Genotype is usually treated for 24 weeks. There is a catch though. Once you start treating you have your Viral Load checked. If you still have virus in your blood after 4 weeks of treating, you should extend treatment. How long to treat would then be determined from when you do NOT have any virus left. An example....
