the I-131 dose for thyroid cancer is usually much higher than for the graves disease or just a body scan. Hi! and welcome! I am also 24 and share a similar story. I agree with Julie that it sounds like hashimotos and I also wonder if the drs have checked your tpo antibodies?! I was diagnosed a month or so before finding the cancer with hashimotos thyroiditis however this didnt reflect really on my tsh or t4. I think the disease can make your tsh fluctuate. The test they did to determine my hashimotos was called THYROID ANTIMICROSOMAL ANTIBODY I think there is a different name for it too. good luck and I agree with cynnieb4...

I almost had an ultrasound guided biopsy(bx) although my mass was not really small it was more across the whole isthmus and right lobe. the u/s is needed to guide the doctors if your mass is not palpable so they can get the right tissue. I ended up seeing a different endo for the u/s guided biopsy and he found the nodule palpable so no u/s was needed. ...

Well I think the thymus is quite a bit lower than where I feel my pressure. When I had the barium swallow they didnt see and stricture in the esophogus I was surprised because it sure feels like it is much smaller than it should be!!!
