Neck and Mid back pain

Thank You. I have an appointment with a neurologist but it's not until June 19th. What can I do in the mean time to help with the pain?

I have had 2 MRI's done on my cervical and uper thoracic spine. The discs at the C4-C5, C5-C6, C6-7 are protruding but do not cause spinal compression or nerve root harm. The discs at the T4-T5, T8, T11-T12 are the same as the cervical. However the disc at the T6-T7 is a large protrusion compressin the spinal cord my MRI says nothing regarding the nerve root ...
Do I need back surgery?

I forgot to mention that I have numbness down my left arm and also my left leg. The protrusion in T6-T7 is on my left side.
