My 15-year-old daughter, under treatment for Atrial Tachycardia, has been complaining of her heart pounding "too hard" to where she feels pressure in her head and feels/hears the beats. Is that normal? She's also experiencing headaches. She's on medication and seeing a cardiologist...will follow up with him again tomorrow for her latest...

you state fast, but do you know your heartrate per minute? the doctor will most likely have you wear a heart monitor, or holter monitor, to record your heartbeat for 24 or 48 hours. That will give them a good picture of what your heart is done. You'll get a journal where you write down what you're doing at different times...like eating, walking to...

Since she was diagnosed so late in life, what is her outlook? She's on her second medication now...the Atenolol made her uncontrollably tired, moody, irritable, she was blacking out and getting numbness in hands and feet.
