I know that Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is often linked to hypothyroidism.....this causes irregular menstrual cycles and at times, heavy bleeding. This could be a result of dancing, especially if you did it for many years--perhaps you wore down the cartilage in your shoulder socket or sternoclavicular joint. Do you experience any pain or swelling in the region, or have you just noticed the noise?

It's likely GERD, especially if you wake up with a hoarse voice every morning. The way you described your throat as being scratchy and having difficulty swallowing are classic signs. If you can, limit your intake of tomatoes/ketchup and other acidic foods (lemons, spicy foods, etc.), and avoid alcohol at all costs. The migraines probably aren't related to ...

I tried Topamax, myself, and it seemed to do an okay job at a low dose. I'm currently taking the beta-blocker Propranolol (120 mg/day), which requires I only take one pill per day. Aside from feeling really lethargic throughout the day, it has done a great job of preventing migraines and the daily headaches I used to get. It may be more serious and you should have gotten a CT scan of your head done when you were in the ER.
