I trace my Scottish lineage back to Robert I on fathers side and William of Orange on my Mom's, ( a ******* and an arse hole) but beyond genetics, I think since Scotland is so far north and it gets less sun than the rest of the UK, that D levels could be chronically low in Scottish folks. But who knows really. MS causes are many and varied and THEY don&#...

I had the CCSVI treatment and it did help for about 6 months, then I regressed back to normal. But for some folks it holds beautifully and they get way better. I tried copaxone too but had allergic reaction to it, which is rare. Since I had cancer, Avonex, Betaseron, and Rebif were out for me so my Neurologist put me on IVIG. I get an infusion once ev...

Please everyone trying tecfidera, keepn us posted on how it works for you and any side effects you have. Its really helpful for those of us waiting in the wings to see how you "Pioneers" do with it. I have heard glowing reports on how some people's symptoms get better but since that is not what they tested, its not on the pamphlet. ;) I gu...

continued from above: Coconut Oil on Your Skin Besides the mounting medical and scientific evidence that coconut oil has powerful positive health benefits when eaten, it has also been used for decades by professional massage therapists to knead away tight stressed muscles. However, you don't have to be a professional massage therapist to...

Here is a quoted article with all the benefits of coconut oil (Dr Mercola) The Truth about Coconut Oil The truth about coconut oil is obvious to anyone who has studied the health of those who live in traditional tropical cultures, where coconut has been a nutritious diet staple for thousands of years. Back in the 1930's, a dentist named ...

A great discussion! I have been waiting for BG-12 to come out in this its market iteration as Tecfidera for a couple years now as it seems to be the drug best suited to my medical history and needs. However, as I am doing exceptionally well on IVIG infusion, now once every 6 weeks, I will wait and see what the reactions are to this new drug and should IVI...

Effexor/venlafaxine is a bear to wean off, but its not impossible. I was on a low dose for pain which it did help but in 6 months gained 25 lbs without doing anything different eatingwise or exercise wise. I have tablets which make it convenient to cut up and parcel out. I started by cutting my dose by 1/4 pill in evening for week, then cutting 1/4 pill o...

I wish they would run thorough tests on new "MS" possible patients to see if they have Lyme disease. Not the fairly useless tests from the 2 major labs, but the specific ones from Igenex or one of the labs that specialize in Lyme. The reason I am jumping in with this seemingly off topic conversation is Lyme presents with most of the same symptoms...

Really interesting stuff, y'all. Jackie, I can't drink milk either and try to get my calcium from "greens." Lots of cole greens like kale, cabbage, bok choi, collards, broccoli. It was tough getting like Mustard, ugh, but when cooked with a bit of onion and bacon fat, salt and pepper, I got a taste for it. As I have "MS." mayb...
