Hi buddy,
Yes it's still operable. If the surgeon can approximate it then it's real good news. However if he can;t get it done, then he might use a graft to get the required length. that's his decision. He will surely tell you about this.I am happy that you asked this. Feel free to clear your doubts.

hi buddy,
Since you are meeting a doctor, it will help you. Pain can be most commonly due to muscle weakness, torn meniscus or a ligament or cartilage damage, to name a few. I am sure that he will tell you one of these reasons, once he examines you.
So keep us posted as what he said.

Hi buddy,
any person with pars defect, should be given treatment as follows
1) Begin with physiotherapy. A 4-6 months of good physiotherapy, should help the patient. If pain is persisting, then
2) Give steriods course. It can be done orally or interatricular route or epidural route.
If steriods fail,

Please discuss it with you...
hi buddy,
actually a small fracture at that level is best treated with a walking cast. But in your case, it's a little sensitive. Don't worry. take rest. once the inflamation settles, all will be OK.
SO relax and just don't let the swelling get over you, otherwise healing will take more time.
