About Me: Female, member since Jan 2007
I soak up medical information like a spunge. I'd be a nurse if I could, but you can't be running to the bathroom every 5 minutes or getting sick from every patient! Here is my history so we can relate: I've had Crohn's and Celiac for 5 years. (I also have IBS on top of... [More] it all.) I now have Crohn's from my stomach down to the outside of my anus. I've had my gall bladder removed from being diseased and I've had c-diff since October. I've had TPN for a month in December and I'm praying I won't go back on it again. During my last hospital stay, I found out I had a  huge blood-clot in my arm from my PICC line. I used to get Remicade infusions every 6 weeks, but had to stop because the results wore off two weeks in. After talking with my doc at Johns Hopkins and the drug company, Centocor, we realized my body metabolizes the drug too quickly and Centocor actually told me to try Humira. I also used to get a methotrexate shot every week and give myself a Lovenox shot in my stomach every day. I live on Tylenol 4 and my beloved friend Phenergan. I'm waiting to go on Humira because we need the c-diff to really be gone.  Since August I have lost 30 pounds and now my hair is falling out from malnutrition. I understand pain, suffering and despair, yet I get through it with the help of Jesus, my family, and my amazing friends. I can't work right now and am waiting for a clear c-diff test and a flex sig. to start Humira. I want Humira so badly! Remicade gave me my life back...for a few weeks at a time at least. [Less]

Sorry to hear you were in the hospital and you still aren't feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. I hate those times of flair ups. Neurontin helps me a lot too. I have been off line for a little while but I'm feeling much better now.

You are so lucky not to have a lot of joint pain. I take Nuerontin and that keeps it to a minimum. I really feel it if I miss a couple of doses. How much time do you spend stretching each day. Maybe that will help me with my joint pain and to relax.
