About Me: Female, 57, Arlington - WA, member since Dec 2007
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, moved to Seattle when I was 3. Lived there until I was 18 and then attended the UW. Was very involved in community theatre and my dream was to be an actress. Thumbed my way across Europe for 4 1/2 months in between my sophmore and junior year... [More] and decided that going back to school was not what I wanted. Moved to NYC for 5 years to pursue acting and damn near died of starvation. Worked many interesting jobs, travelled as often as I could. Spent time in Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. Worked on ocean going tugs mainly from Seattle to Alaska. Froze my ta-ta's off, so moved on to bartending which allowed me to play my favorite character "Dear Abby" on a nightly basis, owned a bookstore, another dream come true. Finally found a man I deemed worthy, turned out to be, quite literally, the boy next door. Had known him since the 5th grade. Got married, had the kids, two boys, now grown and gone. One is 22, in his senior year at the UW and I'm proud to tell you all he is gay and has helped my wardrobe immensely! Son #2 is 25, living out HIS dream of being a rock musician in San Francisco. Happy as a pig in poo and I'm so proud of both of them. I live in the country. It's not exactly the end of the road, but you CAN see it from here! I have dogs and cats and chickens and goats and I raise Koi in my pond. I have been studying the coyotes in the area and have identified three distincts packs. I have kept journals of them all, with sketches that identify the Alpha males and females and their off-spring. They pay me back by eating my chickens. Well, all Gods creatures gots to eat, right? I am 56 years old. 5'7'' and about 150 lbs. Very long brownish/red hair that I obtain from a bottle, but makes me look absolutely stunning I tell you. Brown eyes. Each of my ears has 6 piercings. I have three tats. A peace symbol on my butt from my long ago hippie days, a lightening bolt on my left ankle because........never mind, and a beautiful Celtic butterfly on my upper left shoulder. I work as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) at a large hospital North of here. I work on the Orthopedic/Surgical Unit. Blood does not faze me. A good thing. There is lots of it. I love to garden, veggies more than flowers, reading is my true passion and I'll read anything that appeals to me, I really don't have any one specific genre. I do watch some TV, but try to keep it to a reasonable amount, and I almost always have a book to read during commercials, unless the Budwiser horses are in the commercial. I love things that pertain to the Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest. I am heavily vested in their myths, legends and rituals. My home is decorated with much of their art and yes, the head of my bed does face North! I have been called a wine snob, but only by those who drink MY wine because they are afraid to bring any of their own because they know I'll make fun of it. I do have a mean streak which was finely honed growing up with a big brother. I drive a 1972 VW bug. I'm married to a gear-head so I probably know more about engines than any three of you. There is a sign on my fridge that says "Men are idiots, and I married their king!" I only sort of believe that. I believe that there are only two lasting bequest we can give our children. One is roots, the other is wings. I am a flaming bleeding heart uber liberal democrat tree hugging green proudly menopausal woman. I am an avid supporter of PETA and ALL of my animals have been rescued. I live in a house that our city friends say looks like a f***ing ranger station. I only wish it was in Jellystone Park! I have severe panic disorder. I have psoriatic arthritis very bad for which I give myself three injections a week of some stuff that will no doubt leave me blind, crippled and crazy in a few years, but at least I can walk now. I love being alone. I love to sing along to music and dance when I'm out in my garden. I love all kinds of music except country which makes my fillings pop out of my head! And yet I know all the words to every Patsy Kline song there is! Go figure. I'm just so fascinating, I could write about myself for hours, but I'll save some for chapter two.   [Less]

Nice hearing from you. Glad you're weekend was okay. Not doing too well -; still awake and still indecisive. I should make that my middle name.
