About Me: Female, 63, Dunedin - FL, member since Feb 2008
June, 2006, diagnosed with ovarian cancer, stage 3c, age 61.5 yrs.  I have a very supportive husband, 3 wonderful adult children, one grandchild, and am able to work 3 days a week .. for Cancer MD's, no less.  I had surgery, then cisplatin/taxol for 6 rounds.  Shortly a... [More] fter, my CA-125 began rising each month.  My MD suggested tamoxifen 2x daily.  It is effective for 10% of ovarian patients.  I thank God it has helped me as my numbers have turned around and I am now within the normal range.  I won't be checked for another couple of months and will have a CT/PET at that time.  Living with cancer certainly helps you appreciate what you have and not sweat the small stuff.  Living with cancer can be exhausting.   I thank God for the gift of every day. 9/25/08: still on tamoxifen.  #'s been rising since 12/07, but actually dropped off one point this month to 71.  Am watching a lymph node near my liver which has remained unchanged for 3 months. Hey, play what denomination you are comfortable with... if you like .25 play that but play the max for maximum payouts. The best odds in Las Vegas is Barcarrat, then dice, then black jack and then roulette... but with table games its easy to lose a fortune... enjoy yourself and I hope you hit it BIG.... Monday is the day I'm having the ureteral stents done. Not looking forward to it but my kidneys need help. Thanks for the encouragement. How are you enjoying your retirement? I have applied for disability retirement, waiting to hear from the board. Sharon
