About Me: Female, 59, gallatin - TN, member since Feb 2008
I am a 58 year old former executive now on disability due to Hep c complications. I have been  disabled since 2002 when I undertook a year of "chemo" and it damn near killed me.  I was on the interferon/riboviron cocktail for one year.  I lost my hair, most of my short... [More] term memory, my job but I didn't lose the virus.  It hid for 6 months and then it reappeared.  My GI doc had never had a case where the virus came back so I had 6 months of relative bliss and then the beat goes on.  I have been married for 37 years, my husband is also disabled and we have an eleven year old pug who had better live to be 40. I have 4 years of college and I really miss working...but for some reason  If I have to tell an employer about my illness (even though I am without symptoms)  they all seem to move to the back of the room and you can almost feel their discomfort and the very real need to wash their hands.  It's funny that I have 3 kids and a long term marriage (none of whom have the virus) and no  high risk behavior and I am now the equivalent of a social leper.  I tend to be a drama queen so take all this with a grain of salt.  I am thrilled to find a chatroom that deals with hep c,  I have read all of the letters and so many of them are so similar to mine!  I can't wait to get started. Interests: my pug, reading, ribbon embroidery, virus, hep c, symptom, chemo, husband
