About Me: Female, 55, Westchester - NY, member since Apr 2008
On Oct.6the I had a laparoscopic surgery for what was supposed to be a simple unilocular left ovarian cyst. The surgeon found a Brenner tumor about 6cms. left ovary, and a very hard mass on the right ovary that was either an endometrioma that had solidified and she was ... [More] afraid might have had a malignancy. She elected to removed both ovaries and fallopian tubes, sent everything to pathology. Frozen sections were benign, found out at post-op visit the path reports came back benign too. All the original test results were wrong, TV/Us, Cat-Scan. My advice to all is make sure that you advocate for yourself for surgery if there are any inconsistencies in your reports, it can save your life. Also, find a doctor you trust no matter how long it takes, it took me a very long time. My first gyn who found the cyst 5 years ago just kept putting off surgery saying it would shrink when I went into menopause. She was very wrong, it would have kept getting larger than it did by the time it came out. I'm tired, in some pain, and swollen like a balloon, but I'm very glad it's done and I don't have to worry anymore about what the heck was growing inside of me. [Less]

Hi Valerie! How are you doing? I hope you're feeling OK. If you get a chance, I have a question. I'm going to post it on the dog forum also. We have found 3 ticks on Connor already. Poor baby. All around his neck area. The first time, we took the tick out and then took him to the vet. The vet didn't do much. He said put antibiotic cream on him and check him for ticks every day. So we've been doing that, and last night hubby pulled two ticks off him. He got it all out and put the ticks in a jar and they died. Connor is acting a little strange today. He's not eating a lot and he's trembling. I am worried. Hubby says he's just scared cuz he really did not like it when we pulled out the ticks and we keep putting neosporin on him. What do you think? Thanks, Cindy
