I can understand why you think death would be better. But really suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I've been suicidal for years and heard all the cliches - how would my family feel, etc. The only cliche I bothered listening to is to "sleep on it"; don't make a decision right away and live for yourself. I've tried suicide. It wasn't a good experience and one who got hurt the most was me.
Just give yourself some time. A solution that does not involve suicide will come to you.
