Frustrated with med changes!
About Me: Female, 29, Beautiful Country - ID, member since May 2008
I am a disabled 28 year old woman.  I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and Fibromyalsia.   Each one contributes to the other I believe.  I have suffered with muscle spasms in my back, shoulder blades, ribcage, collar bone area, brachial plexus, endure sharp pains down my l ... [More] eft arm through my elbow into my wrist and fingers, suffer numbness that often causes my arm and/or fingers to turn blue, and also get severe spasms that cause my arm to curl up into a flexed bicep position and also cannot turn my head to the right!  I  have battled with this pain ever since I was about 17 years old.
When I was almost 13, I was struck in the head with a 50 lb bag of Snickers Candy Bars that was dropped out of an airplane!  The bag was traveling approximately 150 MPH and was dropped from over 2000 feet in the air; striking me in the head and knocking me unconsicous.  I rolled down a steep hill breaking my arm and suffered a huge hematoma the size of my skull.  It was like a huge blood blister that was 1 1/2 inches deep and covered the entire side of my head and was full of blood for about 6 months.
When I graduated high school I began to have sharp pains and severe shoulder muscle spasms.  Over the next 7 years and through about 30 different doctors, I discovered that when my collar bone grew to its fullest length, it pressed my ulner nerve against my first rib and nearly severed the nerve and my thoracic nerve bundle.  This is called Thoracic Outlet.
It is now been 11 years since the pain started and 16 years since the injury that cause it!  I have been on medication after medication, rehab and back on pain control again.  I came here to find people like me.  I was not an addict just to get high, in fact my meds do not make me high, they merely relieve my pain.
It is my hope to find new friends on here in my same situation....especially someone with TOS like me. [Less]

If you want a laugh, type the following into your web browser - my sister sent it to me. It is very silly (almost stupid), but it still made me smile ;) http://www.therightfoot.net/mystuff/whatever/swf/bubblewrap.swf

Just a quick note to say hi, i take methadone also, i feel like i'll be on it forever, whenever i try to taper off, i fail and go back to my regular dose. as for the sexual side effects, don't even get me started, i cant get off, and when i do, it's barely anything. hope i'm not saying too much too soon. talk to you later, i hope. -jesse
