Newlywed of 2 years (this June)...met my handsome husband through Match.com.  First date and BAM we  both knew...one month later we married. Did I mention he's a little younger than I am?  eh eh.
Just "realized" via conversation with my sister that our cousins were tested and diagnosed as Hashimoto disease.......then our testing began.
Goiter and surgically removed in 1961 by military hospital...hypothyroidism Dx'd 28 years ago but never followed up on what that meant......May 2008 tested and Dx'd with thyroid disorder and placed on ARMOUR thyroid therapy along with my HRT cream therapy,......
taking Lexapro, anti-depressant...blood pressure meds....and dealing with unexplainable weight gain.  Reading the internet, working with my wonderful doctor (holistic) and I am no longer fatigued, blurry memory....I have my energy back and I no longer sleep 10 hours every night and then take a nap!!!   I feel like the tidal-wave inside me is gone.
On top of it all, I also have THROMBOCYTOPENIA.......low platelet count, creating heavy body bruising for no reason, and unexplained bleeding inside, also, wounds don't coagulate fast. Fun !!   Actually, my father JUST told me he suffered from same issue
but never had anyone tell him why or what or nothing..........Here I go with learning. [Less]

Thank you for everything! You are such an asset on the board .. pls pls pls stick around and help others! That is how and why our community has flourished .. we learn and then teach others and nobody takes a stand on this board, not ever .. it is truly amazing and I've been here since Oct 2006 when I first found out I had a nodule out of the blue!
