About Me: Male, 41, Montgomery - AL, member since Jul 2008
Medically speaking, I suffer from mild depression/social anxiety disorder, ADHD, as well as lumbar spine pain. I take Effexor XR 150 mg 1X Day, Klonopin 1 mg 2X Day, Adderall 30 mg 2X Day, Ibuprofen 800 mg 2X Day, Robaxin 750 mg 2X Day. I also take Suboxone 8/2 mg for...
[More] opioid addiction maintenance. Long story, short, I was addicted to narcotic painkillers, e.g., hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone, etc. for years BEFORE I had chronic pain.
Although I have no family of heart disease, I take an 81 mg aspirin each morning. A disease which does run in our family, unfortunately, is ALS or "Lou Gehrig's Disease". I lost my father to the illness in 2003 and currently my uncle (my Dad's brother) is suffering from the disease.
I am a college graduate and an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. My biggest dilemma is the pain I experience and my past regarding to my previous addiction to prescription pain medicine. I've been on Suboxone for nearly a year and it's been great. I still won't trust myself with pain pills, though. I may ask my Dr. at the VA Hospital about the fentanyl patch.
