[More]nutrition as a result of WWII, when I lived in the Netherlands, probably was responsible for my subsequent hypothyroidism. Generally I have been in good health, but at one time or another I overcame through the practice of optimum nutrition and supplementation three different health problems. In the late fifties it was endometriosis, which cleared up within a few short months and made hysterectomy unnecessary. During the eighties I overcame life threatening asthma, for which I was taking multiple medications and which produced side
effects, by practicing Dr. Buteyko's Breathing Method. After a matter of a few weeks I was able to stop ALL medications and never had another attack. More recently I overcame Diabetes 2 with the elimination of all products containing flour, milk and exercise only.
My diet consists of foods prepared from scratch, lots of raw vegies, some fruits, sprouted flaxseed bread or German pumpernickel bread, grass fed beef (once a week), fish, plain organic yoghurt, eggs and never more than 1/4 cups of mixed whole grains per day.
See doctors only for diagnosis, prescription for Armour thyroid with tests as needed and for the rest avoid those visits as much as possible.
