| For the last month I've had a pain in my right side just above the hip. Some times it moves up to under my ribs and other times it'll even goto the left side. It usually starts it just as it's getting dark (9pm) and then it would get worse untill I slept and I'd wake up with it gone. It starts out like a strange tickle or a stitch without any real pain (more annoying) and if I stay in one position too long it almost burns in a way. But that takes time to build up. While at the same time my throat feels really tight and it's difficult to breathe (I could breathe, but the automatic breathing wouldn't kick in). Swallowing also seems uncomftable, but it's not difficult. Once in a while I'll even feel abit sick. So yesterday I went to the doctors to get checked out. I'd been twice before with it and was told it was a virus. Drink lots of water etc. and did as I was told. But yesterday I went to see my regular GP (the last two visits were emergency late night on call doctors because of my trouble in breathing). My GP told me it was hay fever and Asthma acting up at the same time. I've never had hay fever before so I'm curious is this is something that can really happen through it. I was told to up my asthma inhalers (8 times a day) and told to increase it even more should my symptons not clear up. Hopefully I got enough info above. I'm 20 now and I've never exprienced hay fever before and my asthma never kicks in unless I'm run down, ill or I choke on something. So I wondered how to deal with it , or if it's worth being checked out again by another doctor? Thanks. | Pencil 6/13/2006 | . |
| I suggest getting pulmonary function tests, and maybe seeing a pulmonologist. This will confirm that it is from asthma, and guage the severity of it. | myproblem 6/14/2006 |
