| flightrn 6/14/2006 | . | I have had trouble with a groin rash since a surgical procedure for the removal of a cyst on my sacrum. I have noticed that after spending time in a chlorinated pool that I get an inflamed area around my groin. It is significantly itchy and when scratched it begins to ooze serous fluid. If left alone it will dry and scab over and within a few days it is completely gone. I wonder if it is from the chlorine and the betadine wash from surg. I have read other articles about the allergy to chlorine with astmatics, but all of these are respiratory in nature. I have avoided pools with my children because of the problem and I am in need of help. |

There is a newer pool treatment that does not contain chlorine. maybe you can find a public pool that uses it, and swim there.
