I'm Male, age 43. 2 years ago, I twice visited the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota (I apologize fo being a traitor) for some unresolved severe pain issues mainly in my R shoulder, back and chest wall which turned out to be a nasty muscle imbalance ceating spasm due to poor rounded posture as a result of my profession (dentistry). I had a pretty complete workup at the Mayo which was negative. I did receive a phone call when I got home whereupon I was told that my bloodwork showed MGUS-- apparently, the electrophoretic spike was small-- I had it rechecked 2 months ago and again the spike was small. What is the statistical likelihood of developing Multiple Myeloma?? how often should I have the MGUS checked? At what point is a marrow biopsy done?? I am assuming this would explain my always high sed rate (around 50)? Is that correct?? Thanxmike1105
