| I'm a 66 year old woman in good health except for 2 mastectomies, cholecystectomy and surgeries for shoulder and knee cartilage tears. Last year, after dancing too much at my daughter's wedding, I had an arthroscopy. I had 3 more tears within 6 months and had a total knee replacement this February 13. I have many allergies (corn is a big one) and also am acid intolerant. Therefore I cannot take any NSAIDS, acetominiphen doesn't work for me and codeine makes me vomit. I was given Darvocet for the pain after the surgery which didn't work and left me nauseated. I was then prescribed Tramadaol (Ultram)which I tolerate, but it's not been effective. Due to this, my physical therapy was not successful and I am due back in the hospital April 10 for MUA. I will have the manipulation and be in the hospital 2 days with the epidural in place. I am concerned about pain relief after the epidural is removed. If I don't find something, then the procedure will not work, scar tissue will reform. My pharmacist recommended Sentanyl patches and I found no references to it online. I'd be interested in your opinion. Thank you. -Harmony27 | harmony27 4/1/2006 | . |
