| IKAP 8/4/2006 | . | Hello, My 10 years old son has been having on and off allergy attacks for years. Claritin sometimes together with Benadril do the job. The test showed that he's mostly allergic to dust, pollen, grass, cats. We have carpet and I wanted to buy an air cleaner that would help to reduce the sneezing, especially in the morning. We bought the Kenwood 82250(Seers brand) that we thought should do a good job. Unfortunately we didn't see much difference. Do you know of any air cleaner (Purifier) that could help? | bojo 8/8/2006 C1 | . | I get a health newsletter from Dr. Mercola.com and he recommends a certain air cleaner (can't remember name) that does not involve "ionic". You can go to his website at Dr. Mercola.com. His website is very reputable and is the 3rd most visited in the US. I had used an Oreck air cleaner in Feb. 2005, and two weeks later, had an acute exacerbation of asthma that lasted about 8 weeks with shortness of breath and severe coughing and inability to lie down at night the entire time. Took lots of prednisone, antibiotics, and nebulizer treatments and thought it would never end! Later, a Consumer Reports article said that asthmatics should not use any type of ionic air cleaner. I am planning on putting laminate floors throughout my house and bedroom as I am very allergic to dust mites. Hope this helps! |
