| I was stung multiple times by bees while cutting grass last July. One week later I lost the hearing in my right ear. I've had all kinds of tests and an MRI but nothing shows except inflammation of the labyrinth. I have had 2 bursts of steroid treatment but I've regained very little hearing. I also suffer from vertigo and tinnitus. I've been told that this has to "run it's course". I've read that most cases resolve in 3-8 weeks but some unresolved cases can last for years. Is there anything I can do to help this along? And is the hearing loss permanent? My ENT doesn't want to prescribe anything for the vertigo because he wants the left ear to take over what is lacking in the right. I'm a violinist and the hearing loss has bothered me more than the vertigo. Do people with this actually wake up one day and have evrything back to "normal"? | erbals 10/10/2006 | . |
