| Jgar 7/26/2007 | . | How do I interpret my Gastric Emptying Scan to determine whether my Gastroparesis is mild or severe? My report says: I ingested 320uCi of Technetium 99m labeled Sulfur Colloid in an egg salad sandwich, image of right quadrant was performed immediately and at 15 minutes intervals up to 2 hours. At 90 minutes there is 141.8% radiotracer actively remaining with the gastric region. At 120 minutes there is 118.6% radiotracer actively remaining. Findings would suggest reflux and/or non-motility within gastric region. Impression: Abnormally delayed gastric emptying half time of approximately 180 minutes (normal is less than or equal to 90 minutes) |
| Forum-M.D.- 7/26/2007 | Jgar | The impression is consistent with gastroparesis. Associated diseases can be considered - such as diabetes or thyroid disorder. Normally, medications like the antibiotic erythromycin and Reglan can be considered. These options should be discussed with your personal physician or gastroenterologist.
