2 Retinal Holes in right eye diagnosed recently - High Myopic (-9.5 each eye)
I am 23 years old. Have high myopic eyes (-9.5 each) since last 15 years (started with -4 in each). My myopia has been stable at (-9.5) since last 6 years. I got my eyes examined an year before joining my 1st job and had no problem of holes. In a recent examination the following problem came up.
Problem:
In a recent eye refraction my doctor diagnosed 2 holes in the right eye and immediately suggested Laser surgery. I have some concerns. I do not remember any injury or shock to my eye
1. Will my eyes now become prone to holes and keep getting new holes again and again?
2. Are these surgeries always successful and will my holes definitely close?
3. My job requires to work for 12 hours a day on computer. Is this the reason for these holes. Is it recommended for a patient like me not to do such job or is it okay.
4. What can I do to ensure no such future problems. How do I cope up with my job requirement of sitting in front of computer for long hours. Any way out or recommendations?
3. I plan to go for Lasik Laser to get rid of my myopia. Is it feasible and recommended with the problem of retinal holes?
4. Aren't 2 holes in 1 eye quite much. If I develop new holes in this eye again will I loose vision?
Kindly help me clarify my doubts and oblige
Thanks,
Jackie
