If coffee is already your go-to pick-me-up, file this under "things I could have told the scientists." But new research finds that pick-me-up capability may actually have clinical implications: women who drink four or more cups a day are less likely to be depressed, according to the study in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

And it's not the immediate caffeine jolt that these researchers looked at — they measured women's coffee consumption dating back 14 years, then followed the same women for another 10 years to see the long-term effects of a java habit. Here's to your morning perk!
