The Best Time for Your Health

When to: Soak in the Sun

When to: Soak in the Sun

Enjoy some sunshine in the morning. Ten minutes of direct sunlight in the morning (through your car window doesn't count) can help tell your body that it's daytime, cueing it to shut off production of sleep-making melatonin and improving your alertness. This minimal dose of brightness can also ward off depression and spur your body to start making vitamin D.
