If you disliked these little cabbages as a kid, you may want to give
them another go. Brussel sprouts are probably the most maligned veggie
out there, but that's likely because they are the most incorrectly
prepared one as well (overcooking renders them mushy and releases a
sulfuric odor). Their health benefits - Cancer fighting, cholesterol
lowering, DNA-protecting - and nutty, sweet flavor make brussel sprouts
worth revisiting as an adult.
Try: Roasted in olive oil as a side dish or a hearty addition to fall pasta dishes.
