Some medical problem to talk about.
It's important I tell you your post changed my life. I was in serious pain for about 4 weeks- after I read this, it seemed like common sense. So I straightened up my posture and in a full day felt myself recovering. I had been to a chiropractor 3X (I'm not one to go to any medical source for help, but it was that bad), it helped loosen up my neck at that point, but really I was no better. Weeks later, after I read your post, I went walking pretending I had a band forcing my shoulders back and held my held up strong and felt as though my muscles were going back to how they should be. I just want to thank you, I'm so grateful I came across it in my random search for relief!
I read a few of your posts about pain caused by posture. I wanted to give affirmation to your diagnosis. I have been in chronic pain for 5+ years. I have had exhausted all other options. My symptoms started with a knot in my neck that progressed to such extreme and constant pain I have been unable to work. I have tried anti inflammatory medications, injections of all kinds in all possible locations (neck, shoulder, rhomboid, nerve root), I had a disectomy of C5-6, then a fusion surgery that only made things worse. At this point I truly believe it is a retraining of the muscles that is necessary. I am going to take your recommendations and run with it. I will keep you informed. Thanks for caring and sharing. I would add to those just beginning this quest.. start with the posture improvement
Just a quick note to say hi!
Just a quick note to say hi! Can you help me? Ypu seem to know about back/neck/leg issues. If you're still here...
Just a quick note to say hi mike. Sent u a question about 2 weeks ago. Hope everything is ok with u.
I think I have a similar problems. I fractured T4 (compression fracture) many years ago and I've been suffering from upper back, neck, and facial pain for 13 years. I'm on various meds that help somewhat. I'm trying to stengthen the upper back and I'm going to be getting massage. Do you have any suggestions for my massage therapist. I haven't seen her yet but she was recommended by a great dentist specializing in facial pain. I have no inflammation or damage to my tmj thankfully. I had an MRI and bone scan. Any advice would be much appreciated!
I was reading an article about the shoulder blade muscle (my right side) having this sharp pain when I contract it or I cough and suchthat. I went to a physiotherapist and it seemed after 2 months nothing really changed. Temporaly my pain would ease when I would do a light weight for a mid back excercise and shrug excercise. I really need your help since you were in my situation. I have a feeling that you are right from that article. Do you know any websites that can show me these streches for my neck? And do you have any other suggestions?
Just a quick note to say hi! thank you for answering back it ease my mind

I see you posted in Jan of 2010. If you get this please give me a quick response. I would
like to write to you about my neck and back and see if it fits the posture's you speak of ??
PLEASE, I know your not a Dr. I just want your opinion.
you're an idiot who obviously has no medical background. please stop passing on such **** poor, uninvestigated misinformation
I started a routine of collodial and chelated minerals and vitamins which helped me to get the pump turned down to the turn off point, but still the right IT band and right hip flexure are as tight as ever and very difficult and painful to stretch. The muscle burning sensation when sitting has been managed with a sports drink with potassium and amino acids. I would really like to talk to you further about your recovery if you would message me. God's speed.
Hi Mike, I've read some comments that you left on another post and it sounds as if you and I are going through very simular issuses. Mine started with pain very much like siatica but got increasing worse. My chiro asked me to see a nerologist which started my 6 year journey through 2 hospitals and way to many doctors. I had a therasic/laminectamy which seemed to help until the pain med perscriptions ran out. Next I was refered to a pain management clinic due to a diagnosis of severe muscle spasisity ad they perscribed and implanted the ITB pump to infuse Bacelofen into my spinal fluid. I have found out now, since I had the pump deactiveated, that the only good it had done was to mask the extreme sensations that I have in my legs and butt.
Mike, I have had this neck/trapezius pain for over a year, undergone physical therapy, trigger point injections, EMG, nerve studies, MRI, all of which are negative. I am to undergo a epidural injection on the 27th. Did they ever figure out what caused your pain?
Just a quick note to say hi! i get a shooting pain on my right hip bone during ejaculation, do you have any idea why? please.
