Thank you Susan for the nice note. Here is my update.
I just got home last night after being in the hospital since Sunday the 17th. I had to go into the Emergency Room because of of extreme abdominal pain. It turned out I had an obstructed bowel due to my intestines being stuck in my umbilical hernia. A transplant surgeon was able with his hands to pull the bowel out of the hernia to clear the blockage Friday night instead of operating on my abdomen which every other doctor recommended.
While I was at the hospital I was diagnosed with a new 2.0 cm (0.8") tumor and will treat it with chemo beads inserted into the blood supply to the tumor in my liver.
Just a quick note to say hi!
Susan, thanks for thinking of me... I'm doing well, I have another check up on the 16th of this month, every time I get tired I think ooh ..... its interesting sorting out what is going on with my body, tired, sore, etc and what to attribute it to.. all in all doing really well and just dealing with whatever comes up, taking a couple vitamins, trying to walk more, definitely trying to maintain a positive attitude. I feel very fortunate to have gone through the study,, gotten such good results and meeting such wonderful people How are you doing by the way? be well and happy
Susan, thank you for your kind thoughts, and I truly hope these PI's are the answer or part of the answer for everyone. how are you?
thanks for the good wishes Susan. Onwards ( and hopefully not in a circle!). When do your first post-eot results come in?
Hi Susan...I guess it seemed like I was a little quick to be somewhat cynical of another so-called" famous" person coming out and doing something for awareness, however I am all for people regardless of stature ,doing that ...it"s just how we hear so often of these people getting preferential treatment ,,my radar was up.
Hope you are recovering ok...and thx. for sending off a note.. good to hear from you.
Thank you for everything!
Hey what is that recipe?
many thanks Susan - and all the best with post tx recovery and the upcoming results!
Wow ...just seems like a few short weeks ago that you were starting...now all done!! Congrats Susan...24 weeks being a geno 1 is always good to hear. Hope you recover quickly and will look forward to your SVR! WILL
Yeah - Last shot!! Congrats on finishing the long haul. I was just thinking that today is the one year anniversary of my last shot and how excited I was. Seems so long ago already.....
Hope you have a quick recovery! Pam
Thank you for the compliment.
"pointing out" instructions.
I am not familiar with this. What is it?
I feel so good today! Amazing. I hope you are well. Oh -wanted to mention Ginger Beer 0% alcohol. We got some really good stuff at the Harris Teeter. John and I are also planning to brew up our own. We've both always liked it, and I drank it over in GB -the sell it in the bars. Some of that may have a .05% but I'm pretty sure you can make it zero%.
Just read your mood 'color me clear'. Und at 4 weeks perhaps??
Thank you for the well wishes on my week 12 results. I went for the lab draw today, should finally get to know if this is working in about 5 days or so when the results are ready!
Sounds good Susan, thanks for taking the time
thank you for your sweet words. pretty down today. But Im sure I will rally.
Just a quick note to say hi! Hope you're doing well or at least better. Just keep in mind that "this too shall pass"!! Try some Chinese soup pork or noodle and vegetable from a restaurant or some menudo!
Aches and pains seem to be going away. I do have a bit of a cold. I hope that is it.. Feel better today.
Just a quick note to say hi! Did I see that you start tx. today? If so all the best!!
I have not been to the Okefenokee swamp. It sounds wonderful! I have been to the Everglades, but not with a kayak. There are some great mangrove islands on the west coast of Florida and I have paddled around many of those looking at bald eagles and ospreys.
Best of luck with your TX!
Looking around -saw you were IN !! 24 weeks -bring it on!
Hi. I typed this long note and it says I'm over the limit. You can email me at ***@**** if you want. Well, I heard my bx came back a 0-1 inflammation -no cirrosis and that's good. . That was my main concern. I've had hepC for a long time and was diagnosed around two years ago. My coordinator's name is April. I will send you the rest of my message if we get to email each other! Take care. Let me know if you've heard. Kim
Just a quick note to say hi! Wasn't it! I love anything that Woody Harrelson, he is an excellent actor. Have an amazing Sunday.
Hi. I am also trying to get into this study -at Duke. Had another screening/labs Tuesday & ultrasound & eye exam (going on vacation and couldn't start treat in time). Then had bx on Wednesday. Hopefully labs still good, my boyfriend saw my ultrasound while I was recovering from bx (don't tell!) and they didnt sound too bad -he was googling like crazy while he had the paper ;) and his computer. Waiting for results. Are you at Duke? I am on hcvsupport.org scaredycat
I just wanted to say hi, and wish you good in your clinical trial.....Lots of people here to help you, if you need it....Ginger
